Our goals
for 2009 are more aggressive than in the past:
1. Welcome all new businesses and conduct opening ceremonies
2. Complete grant writing seminars and apply for funds
3. Aggressively contact businesses in surrounding areas
(Pierson & Barberville)
4. Provide a suggestion box and/or use our website as a place
for residents & businesses alike to air their requests,
suggestions, and complaints
5. Reinstate the Calendar Meeting with ALL other Clubs &
Organizations to update the Community Calendar and try to avoid
conflicts
6. Quarterly visit to area restaurants for dinner meetings
7. Schedule field/informational trips to area businesses, i.e.
Water Company
8. Schedule Speakers 3 times per year
9. President's challenge to every member to get a Sponsor for
the Cook-off to give exposure for our Businesses |
Welcome to the Astor, Florida Chamber of
Commerce online.
Astor, Florida is located in Lake County and includes Volusia
in Volusia County in Central Florida. We are
located not far from the area attractions in
Daytona Beach and Orlando.
Our small community borders the St. Johns
River to the East and the Ocala National
Forest to the West. If you are in
the area and have never been to Astor,
we know that after visiting our community
you will see why it has earned the
nickname "The Jewel of the St. Johns River".

The Astor Area Chamber of Commerce is organized to advance the
general welfare and prosperity of the Astor area. All necessary
means of promotion may be provided and particular attention and emphasis
shall be given to the economic, civic, and educational interests of the
area. The Astor Area Chamber of Commerce is a
non-profit, non-partisan, and non-sectarian organization.

Along with promoting our local businesses in the Astor area, the
Astor Chamber supports and makes charitable donations to the following
local clubs:
Astor Community Association, Astor Garden Club, Astor VFW, Astor Kiwanis
Club, Astor Moose Lodge, Friends of the Library, Cemetery Association,
and Astor Athletic League.
